The Bay Horse

Jim's York Pub Guide

The Bay Horse
Unpretentious little pub with unremarkable name, the drinker's equivalent of "Dunroamin". Most people will probably start roaming in here actually, as it's positioned at the top of Micklegate. They'll have a quick pint, and head off somewhere a bit more lively. If, however, you prefer decent conversation in more cosy and comfy surroundings than the rest of what that street has to offer, then the Bay Horse would be a decent choice. I've been in here a few times, it's always relatively busy with a mixed crowd of tourists and regulars, and doesn't pretend to be anything other than what it is.
