| I've just moved to Poppleton, and this is now my local. It used to be The Flying Legends, and therefore a suitable comparison is a pint of well tended Black Sheep bitter versus a pint of day old Carling poured from the drip tray. The pub seems to be popular with locals, they have a dartboard where I can practice my Jocky Wilson impersonation (the physique is getting there) and it's the kind of place I might actually prefer to most of those in York. Good quiz night on a Wednesday, hosted the last time I was there by a Bernard Manning style compere, who cracked a rascist joke that I'm far too namby-pamby liberal to reprint here. But it was funny. | |||
