| This is a popular and recommended traditional pub that sits off the main York thoroughfares in the middle of a housing estate, but a five minute walk from Micklegate. It has four seperate rooms - a snug, a public bar, a lounge and one for a pool table. You should find something to suit your taste, providing your taste verges toward "spartan". The dominoes were rattling the night I dropped by, but this was soon drowned out by the Liverpool game on the TV in the public bar. I could still hear this clearly in the bog, which is outside and detatched from the bar itself. On other visits, however, the TV has been off and the only noise has bee the buzz of conversation or music from the String Dazzlers. Much preferable. | |||
