Jim's York Pub Guide |
![]() |
Stopped off in here on a Tuesday night - not the best time to visit pubs I know - and
there were seven people in. That made it 20 decibels per person on the sound system. You had to hold onto your
pint glass on the bar or it would vibrate to the edge of the counter and fall off. No doubt this place is heaving
at the weekend, and at least it serves a good pint or two, but I wasn't impressed with the clientele who all looked
like they'd come from a remand home. So did the barman, with his shaved head, tattoos and earring. I stood at the
bar, fastened my eyes to a newspaper, tried to read through the noise and made a sharp exit. ccccc |
