| Big, imposing pub down near the River Ouse adjacent to Marygate car park. Last time I was in the TV crew form Channel 4s "Time Team" were swilling away good style. I've never seen so much technology hanging from human bodies in my life! This is a popular pub, and was running quite a difficult pub quiz that particular Sunday night, so I swallowed my ignorance with a pint of the good selection of beer on offer. There are benches out front to drink on, and plenty of room inside. The "Time Team" managed to persuade the staff to serve them a big plate of hot food after last orders had been called. I'm not sure if this request would always be granted, but it's an excellent example of how to look after good customers and keep them coming back. | |
