| Fans of the turf will feel at home here in a big pub who's name commemorates one of the great dobins of recent years. I got the impression it was quite a local and regular crowd who frequented this place, but it seemed bright and friendly enough, despite a lot of dark wood panelling dulling things down. A nice spread of food was on show, bubbling away on hot plates to attract the lunchtime crowd, but not that many seemed to be tempted. The pool table through the back was quiet too. I sat at the bar, filled out my Saturday coupon and hoped that the spirit of the winner celebrated here would rub off on my selections. It didn't. | |||
