Jim's York Pub Guide |
|
This pub has been a popular real ale haunt in York for years. It's the type of place where letting rip a horrendous fart is deemed only to add to the ambience. You know the type of place - tiled floors, lots of nicotine stained walls and ceilings, small snugs to have an intense debate within, beers you've never heard of being served and even occassionally bought. Yes, I like it. Other publicans should be forced to visit and see the approach this pub takes to looking after their customers. There's an inhouse magazine advertising darts events, quiz nights, music and folk nights, information on the beers they serve etc. etc.. They advertise that you can enjoy a traditional pint in a traditional pub with traditional values, and I would agree with that. |

| Visit their Website. I've e-mailed them twice, however, and got no response. Rather annoying. | ||
