| This is a bar/restaurant attached
to the Hilton that overlooks Clifford's
Tower. (Have a look at this website if you're interested in the "improvment"
plan the council have for this area.) Last time I visited, I slagged the
place off on the basis that I felt it was too much like an afterthought
attachment to a global hotel chain, and I'm really not into what I feel
are "here today, gone tomorrow" pubs and bars. Henry J. Bean's
is modelled upon an American style bar like Brannigan's (for those of you
who've been to Florida) and serves up cocktails, bottled beers and draft
as a secondary concern, with the TV flickering away in the background. It's
kind of a TGIF, Old Orleans experience, but the staff contacted me on the
basis of my last review asking me to revisit and reasses what they were
doing. I haven't yet, but they obviously care, and this must be a good sign
that you'll receive a friendly reception when you drop by. |
