Oh dear, it's a student pub. From the inflatable alien behind the bar, to a CD jukebox that is so hip and trendy it's wearing flares, everything tries so hard to be "cool". They've even hung some serious art as their pub sign instead of having something as boring as a plain old name (I think it's called "The Scream", and I am reliably informed that it's part of a chain of Bass "Scream" pubs.) I was in on a Sunday night, and it was relatively busy - students are the only people who can afford to drink every night of the week, after all - and enjoyed myself listening to the vibes coming from the popular rock combos on the aforementioned jukebox. There are some different brews on offer, but the promotional onslaughts for Hooch and Aftershock that decorate the bar gives the impression that beer is the last thing they want to serve you. So, this is for the trendy students. Wonder where the hippy student bar is? With Old Farter's Moonshine on draught?
