Little John, friend and confidante of that raving bender (alleged) Robin Hood. So why
does the pub itself advertise "Dick Turpin's Cellar Bar", and have murals of one of York's favourite
son's on the walls? Did they meet? I never saw Dick's favourite hangout as it was roped off, available for private
functions. But not for Joe Public. I sat at the bar - seriously excellent barstools - and puzzled over the name. I then went to the toilets and found they were tiny. Is this the answer? Pub itself is painted a slimy green inside and out, has a CD jukebox, a Mr Blobby chalkboard advertising food and a non-smoking area reserved for two people. Could do better. |
