| A bit of controversy out here in
Poppleton - a photograph of Manchester United on the wall. We are not Leeds,
obviously, but neither are we York City? The photograph is the only remarkable
thing about this pub. It's a fairly typical village local, which caters
well for families with a biggish beer garden and bouncy castle. They also
have a few domino boards behind the bar for those with a more laid back
attitude. Seems also to do a fairly regular turnover on food. I was there
on a lunchtime, and I'll have to wander along some evening to see what else
is going on. Competing with the White Horse and the Lord Collingwood, I think the Lord Nelson falls in the middle of my estimations - which is just as well, as it's too far a walk from where I live! |
