| A "Tom Cobleigh" pub, so a varied selection of beers that change on a regular basis is on offer - something other chains should encourage. There's also good deals available on food - "Two meals for a fiver" for instance - but it's the usual contemporary version of "chicken in a basket". This is also normally restricted to late afternoon/early evening Mon - Sat. It's a brilliant pub for families with kids, having what a child may consider the most exciting playbarn in York (costs £1), an enclosed garden with a bouncy castle and a decent adventure playground too. After about 9pm, however, it becomes a big, lonely shell of a place, which is disappointing if only because I live quite near it. | |
