| Small, well kept pub offering an unpretentious enviroment and a good selection of beer
(and crisps)! There are two lounges off the main entrance to the pub, but you can also choose to drink in the "corridor"
that leads to them. Actually, this is more the public bar, and is where the largest area for serving is (okay,
I'm finding it difficult to describe)! One of the lounges is a smoke room, and both looked warm and welcoming.
It's a nice pub, and obviously hasn't changed much since it was built (it's a Tetley Heritage Inn, unchanged interior
since 1930's) so if you like throwbacks to the past this place will suit you. The crowd was a bit younger, and
verged towards the studenty on the night I was in. The music, playing at just the right volume, reflected this,
which means that I recognised it as "happening" but hadn't a clue who any of the bands and singers were!
I sank a nice pint of Landlord and was really tempted to down another, but had the car parked outside. |
