The Tile Bar

Jim's York Pub Guide

TIle Bar Courtyard Forget the impression that it feels as if you're drinking in a Victorian urinal and you'll enjoy a pint in pretty unique surroundings. It's called the Tile Bar because it is tiled almost from floor to ceiling in heavy ceramic. It looks like it could be some sort of Spa Room that was a feature of the Station Hotel (which it is part of.) Talking to the barman early one Friday night, he stated he'd probably close at nine, things were so quiet. On a Friday night?!! This is criminal, as the place could and would have bags of character if it were busy and buzzing.
So, if you've a train to catch, pop in here for a pint before you do, as it's only a minute from the station. Or, if you're dazed and confused on the Micklegate run, make the detour down here. Hopefully it will still be open!
